Portfolio Tutoring

Our portfolio experts will provide one-on-one feedback on your portfolio. Special attention will be paid to syntax and grammar, presentation style, and overall content.

Portfolio tutors are not experts in the subject area requested in your portfolio. Instead, tutor review will focus on broader issues, including:

• Have you overlooked any glaring spelling or grammar errors?
• Have you presented yourself in a way appropriate to the portfolio request?
• Are all the documents you reference actually included in the portfolio?
• How is the overall length and quality of your learning narrative?

Tutoring services are charged by the individual portfolio at a flat rate of $50. Our trained tutors will work individually with each portfolio, highlighting the strengths of the portfolio, and also pointing out areas for improvement. Tutors will not re-write portfolios for the student; rather, as trained tutors, they will indicate what areas could be enhanced, and will include suggestions and, if appropriate, resources on how to improve these areas.

Students should expect to hear from their tutors directly, via email. However, the tutoring session will include the asynchronous review of a portfolio and a limited number of email clarifications; the student is expected to act independently on any recommendations from the tutoring session.

Because our tutors are likely not experts in the field of study you are petitioning in your portfolio, their comments should not be taken as a guarantee of a successful review of the portfolio. You can be sure, however, that if you incorporate the comments of our tutors, your portfolio will be stronger overall.
